Accessibility at Video To Voice
Before we really get started, a few words about accessibility: We strive for digital inclusion in our design and our products. This also includes - but not only - using a screen reader.
We regularly check our pages internally and externally with the help of third parties in order to meet our accessibility standards. If we still missed something, please report the error to our support. We will fix errors as soon as possible.
Use with a Screen Reader
We use NVDA and JAWS for our internal tests. The descriptions in this manual refer to NVDA. If you use a different screen reader, some labels mentioned may differ slightly, and keyboard shortcuts for certain actions may vary between screen readers.
In such cases, try to think about what would logically be expected or how your screen reader is designed to work. If you still encounter issues, please don’t hesitate to contact support.
Current Information on Accessibility
Website and Manual
Our website and manual are accessible according to our internal review. An external audit is still pending.
Tip: The website and the manual include “skip navigation” links at the top of the page. These are hidden links designed to make navigation easier for keyboard and screen reader users. After the page has loaded, press the Tab key once. The “Skip to main content” link will appear in the top left corner. This allows you to bypass the main navigation and go straight to the content. Screen readers will also read this link aloud. The skip navigation also includes two additional direct links: to the Search and the Table of Contents.
The Application
We are making significant efforts to ensure Frazier is usable with a screen reader. For the most part, it works well. However, there are still challenges in some areas, particularly in the editor. Where possible, we address these issues in specific chapters of this manual. Look out for “Screen Reader Notes” sections. Additionally, we offer onboarding support for screen reader users—just reach out to support.
Color Contrasts
Frazier currently features a dark color scheme with various shades of gray. The contrast ratio adheres to WCAG AA standards, maintaining at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio across all pages. We are aware that some users prefer a light color scheme or one with higher contrast. This enhancement is on our to-do list, and we’ll notify you as soon as updates are available.
Reduced Animations
We generally avoid excessive animations in Frazier. However, some essential functions in the editor are animated. This includes the video content, the timeline that moves in sync with the video, and the document itself. Unfortunately, these animations cannot currently be disabled. If this causes problems, we’d be happy to work with you to explore potential solutions. Please contact support.
And now… let’s dive into the demo project!
